PGA Tour Championship Prediction
The Tour Championship will take place from Thursday, August 25 and run through Sunday, August 28 from the East Lake Golf Course this weekend.

Scottie Scheffler is the current favorite at +200, followed by Cantlay at +380 and Xander Schauffele at +650. Rory McIlroy is +900, while Jon Rahm is +1400. Tony Finau, Justin Thomas, Sam Burns and Cameron Smith are all +2000, followed by Sungjae Im at +2700.
Tour Championship Predictions
OPTION 1: Rory McIlroy (+900)
As Josh Culp noted in his Tour Championship Preview this week for Rotoworld, McIlroy bettered the field average in 25 of his 32 rounds at East Lake. Those are impressive numbers on their own, but factor in how good the fields were in previous rounds at East Lake and those figures really pop. Given that he’ll face weaker competition this weekend than what he’s used to, there’s no reason to believe McIlroy won’t be in the hunt by Sunday afternoon.
OPTION 2: Scottie Scheffler (+200)
Yes, he’s the favorite, but I like Scheffler’s chances of victory more than I do Cantlay going with back-to-back victories, or anyone else outside of McIlroy when it comes to the golfers at the top of the odds board. Scheffler has an opportunity to put a stamp on a strong season and as long as he doesn’t play tight with a two-shot cushion in the FedEx standings heading into the Tour Championship, he should be in the mix for a win on Sunday. While the overall value might not be there, Scheffler is still one of the safer options this weekend.
OPTION 3: Adam Scott (+12000)
Scott does have a win at East Course back in 2006 but more importantly, he’s hot. He saved par on the 72nd hole of the BMW Championship last week to sneak inside the FedEx Cup’s top-30 by delivering an epic sand save following a pulled tee shot and an awkward swing beside a fairway bunker. Scott started the FedEx Cup playoffs ranked 78th before playing himself into the BMW Championship by jumping to 45th at the first event. He’s now 29th and if you want to ride that momentum heading into this weekend, I won’t fault you.
