U.S. Open Odds
The third major championship of 2019 is set to take place this weekend as the U.S. Open is held. Here’s a look at the odds to win the major entering the week.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Brooks Koepka is an 8/1 favorite to win. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (9/1), Rory McIlroy (9/1) and Tiger Woods (12/1). The 2019 U.S. Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California.
Koepka is No. 1 in the world rankings entering the week. He won the PGA Championship last month and has five top-10 finishes this years in 12 tournaments. Koepka has won four majors in his career, including the last two U.S. Opens. He has finished first or second in four of the last five majors.
Johnson is second in the world rankings. He has two victories this year and has finished in the top 10 in eight of 13 tournaments this year. DJ was the 2016 U.S. Open champion, his lone major championship. This year, Johnson has finished second in the first two majors.
McIlroy moved up to third in the world rankings this week after winning the RBC Canadian Open on Sunday, his second win of 2019. He has 10 top-10 finishes out of 12 tournaments this year. McIlroy is a four-time major winner, including the 2011 U.S. Open. He has missed the cut in the last three U.S. Opens.
Tiger Woods is fifth in the world rankings right now. He has four top-10 finishes this year out of eight events. Tiger is a 15-time major champion and a three-time U.S. Open winner. His last U.S. Open victory came back in 2008. Woods ended a lengthy major winless streak this year by taking The Masters in April. He missed the cut at the PGA Championship.
