2018 U.S. Open Odds
It’s time for the second major of the 2018 golf season this week as the U.S. Open will be held. Here’s a look at the odds to win this weekend’s major.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is favored to win, as he is listed with 9/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (11/1), Jordan Spieth (14/1) and Justin Thomas (14/1). Tiger Woods is listed with 16/1 odds. The U.S. Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
Johnson is back to No. 1 in the world rankings after his win in the St. Jude Classic this past weekend. He has two wins this year and seven top-10 finishes out of 11 events. Johnson was the 2016 U.S. Open winner, his only major championship. He has finished in the top 5 of the U.S. Open in three of the last four years.
McIlroy is sixth in the world rankings right now. He has finished in the top 10 in three of his last five tournaments this year. He has one win in 2018 with six top-10 finishes in 13 tournaments. McIlroy won the 2011 U.S. Open, but he has missed the cut at the event the last two years.
Spieth is fourth in the world rankings right now, but he has finished outside the top 20 in four straight events. He is winless this year with four top-10 finishes out of 14 events. Spieth won the 2015 U.S. Open, but it is his only top-10 in this event in six appearances.
Thomas is now second in the world rankings after a brief stint at No. 1. He has played in 11 tournaments this year and has five top-10 finishes with one victory. Thomas has played in the U.S. Open three times and has one top-10, which was a ninth-place finish last year.
