Top European at U.S. Open Odds
Which European golf star will make the best run at the 2017 U.S. Open Championship this week? Here’s a look at the prop odds.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rory McIlroy is favored to be the top European finisher, as he has 9/2 odds. Other short odds for the honor are Jon Rahm (6/1), Sergio Garcia (7/1) and Justin Rose (15/2). The U.S. Open Championship takes place June 15-18 from Erin Hills in Hartford, Wisconsin.
Bet on the U.S. Open Championship
McIlroy is a former U.S. Open champion, taking the title in 2011. In eight appearances in this event, he has placed in the top 10 three times and missed the cut three times. This year, McIlroy has played in just six events and has four top-10 finishes, but is without a win. He is second in the world rankings.
Rahm is 10th in the world rankings. He had had a great 2017 thus far, playing in 12 events and picking up one win with seven top-10 finishes. This will be just his second U.S. Open. He finished 23rd last year as an amateur.
Garcia finally broke through and won his first major of his career, the 2017 Masters. He has finished in the top 10 of the U.S. Open five different times, including a fifth-place finish last year. Garcia has two wins this year in 10 tournaments. He is currently seventh in the world rankings.
Rose is 11th in the world rankings. He has played in 10 events this year, finishing second in two of them and in the top 10 in four of them. Rose was the 2013 U.S. Open champion, but he hasn’t cracked the top 10 since. He missed the cut last year and has a total of three top-10 finishes at this event in his career.
