Updated U.S. Open Odds
The opening day of the U.S. Open Championship was halted by rain, with some golfers not even beginning their first round.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jason Day is the favorite to win this major, as he now has 6/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jordan Spieth (11/1), Bubba Watson (12/1) and Dustin Johnson (12/1). The U.S. Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
Day was never able to begin his first round. He is currently No. 1 in the world rankings. He has finished in the top 10 in his last four majors, including a win in the PGA Championship.
Spieth completed 11 holes of his opening round and currently sits at +1 for the tournament, four shots back of Andrew Landry, the sole leader. Spieth had just one birdie through his first 11 holes.
Watson completed 14 holes, posting a 2-under score. He had a very back-and-forth round with five birdies and three bogeys.
Johnson also didn’t begin his opening round. Johnson has never won a major championship, but has finished in the top 5 of this event the last two years.
