Will Tiger make the cut?
UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA (TheSpread) – Tiger Woods won his last major championship seven years ago today, now many even doubt he can make the cut at this week’s U.S. Open Championship.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Woods comes into this year’s U.S. Open with 60/1 odds to emerge as the winner. His odds of being the top American are set at 30/1. When it comes to making the cut this week, his odds are set at +100 to make the cut and -130 to miss it.

When you look at the recent history, it is easy to see why Woods’ odds are where they are. He is currently 195th in the world rankings and his last two outings have seen him finish 71st and 69th. Despite that, he still made the cut. In five events this year, Woods has missed the cut one time and had to withdraw from injury one time.
Now, when you look at his majors history, it is hard to see Woods not making the cut. He hasn’t missed the cut at a U.S. Open since 2006 and that was the only time in 18 appearances. He also is coming off a 17th-place showing at The Masters after not playing for months. Woods has only missed the cut twice at a major since 2010. Despite the shakiness of his game, Woods finds a way to make it to the weekend at major championships.
