WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Odds
A week before the final major of 2018, many of the top golfers in the world gather together for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Here’s a look at the odds to win this event.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is favored to win this week’s tournament, as he has 7/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tiger Woods, who each have 12/1 odds to win. The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational takes place Thursday-Sunday from Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
Johnson won this event in 2016. He is coming off his third victory in 2018 in last weekend’s RBC Canadian Open. Johnson remains No. 1 in the world rankings thanks to nine top-10 finishes in 14 events this year.
McIlroy won this tournament back in 2014. He comes into this weekend seventh in the world rankings. McIlroy has one win and seven top-10 finishes this year out of 17 tournaments. He has missed four cuts, though. McIlroy is coming off a runner-up finish at The British Open a few weeks ago.
Rose has not won this tournament but has finished runner-up in the past. He is coming off a second-place finish at The British Open a few weeks ago and is up to second in the world rankings. Rose has one win and eight top-10 finishes out of 13 events this year. He has placed in the top 10 in five straight events.
Woods is an 8-time winner of this tournament, last claiming the title in 2013. He has moved up to 50th in the world rankings thanks to his sixth-place finish at The British Open, his best finish since 2013. Woods has four top-10 finishes this year out of 12 events as he seeks his first win since 2013 as well.
