FedEx St. Jude Invite Picks
A week after the final major out in Europe, the top golfers now gather in Tennessee for the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational this weekend. Here’s some of the golfers we like to contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson are co-favored to win, as each has 9/1 odds to prevail. Other short odds to win are Brooks Koepka (10/1) and Jon Rahm (12/1). The 2019 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.
Bet on the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational
1000 Dustin Johnson 9/1
It’s been a bit of a rough patch for DJ as of late, finishing outside the top 10 in four straight events with a missed cut and a 51st-place finish last weekend in The Open. Still, I think he can rebound this week in a tournament he has won before. He won in 2016 and is a six-time winner of WGC events in his career. He placed third last year and 17th in 2017, so expect good things from DJ at one of his best courses this weekend.
1004 Justin Thomas 14/1
Thomas is the defending champion of this tournament and is coming off a pretty good showing in Northern Ireland last weekend, placing 11th. He is seeking his first win of the year, but he has claimed a victory every year since 2014. WGC events have been pretty solid for him as well. He has finished in the top 10 in his last four, including three top-five finishes.
1010 Jordan Spieth 33/1
Spieth was winless in 2018 and has been winless this year as well. However, Spieth has started to show signs of a turnaround over recent months. He was third in the PGA Championship and has finished in the top 10 in three of his last six tournaments. He also grinded his way to a 20th-place finish last week in The Open despite struggling with his drive. Spieth has finished in the top 10 of this tournament twice and was 13th in 2017. I think he can continue his upward trend this weekend and possibly get that elusive victory.
