WGC-HSBC Champions Predictions
Many of the best in the golf world meet up overseas for the WGC-HSBC Champions this weekend. With action teeing off early Thursday morning, here’s three golfers we like to contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is favored to win this event, as he is getting 15/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Brooks Koepka (17/2), Justin Rose (11/) and Rory McIlroy (11/1). The WGC-HSBC Champions takes place Thursday-Sunday from Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China.
Brooks Koepka 17/2
Koepka finished second in this tournament last year and is coming off a fifth-place finish in the last WGC event. He went back to being No. 1 in the world following a dominant win at the CJ Cup last weekend. Koepka has won three events in 2018 and he is playing at a high level right now. Look for him to continue the momentum this weekend.
Rory McIlroy 11/1
McIlroy is having a strong finish to 2018 despite not picking up wins. He has finished in the top 10 in four of his last six events, including the Bridgestone Invitational. He has finished sixth or better in five of the last six times he has competed in this event and has finished in the top 10 in nine of his last 12 WGC events, which includes two wins. McIlroy seems to rise up for these events.
Tommy Fleetwood 20/1
Fleetwood is having a great 2018 season, the best of his career. He has nine top-10 finishes this year and has missed just two cuts. He has finished 11th or better in four straight and racked up four points in the Ryder Cup. Fleetwood has finished in the top 20 of his last four WGC events, but is improving his status with each event. This could be the one where he breaks through for a victory.
