According to oddsmkers from RealBets, Rory McIlroy is actually the slight favorite to win this event over Jordan Spieth, as McIlroy has +375 odds while Spieth has a +400 line. The next shortest odds belong to Rickie Fowler at +1500. This event takes place Thursday-Sunday from Abu Dhabi Golf Club in Abu Dhabi.

Spieth is the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world by a good margin. He opened 2016 with a win in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, giving him six wins in 2015-16. He also has finished seventh or better in five straight.

McIlroy is third in the world rankings, but hasn’t played in 2016. His last outing was also in Dubai, a win in the DP World Tour Championship in November. He has eight wins over 2014 and 2015 combined.

Fowler is sixth in the world rankings and coming off the best year of his career in 2015 where he picked up three wins. He finished fifth in the Tournament of Champions two weeks ago and has placed in the top 25 in seven straight events, which includes one victory.
