After day one in the tournament we saw a few bracket busters. The four teams that beat higher seeds included Dayton, Pittsburgh, Harvard, and North Dakota St. On Friday if the trend continues we will be seeing some more bracket busters. Less than 1% of bracket entry contests remain perfect.
Taking a look at Friday there are a few teams that may be on upset alert. For starters VCU who is seeded 5th will play Stephen F. Austin who holds the 12th spot. Stephen F. Austin have now won 28 straight games. The Lumberjacks are 2-0 straight up on neutral courts this year and only have 2 losses overall. The Lumberjacks are also 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. VCU is defiantly a team to look at to be upset today.
Next up let’s take a look at the Tar heels vs. Friars. Providence is 5-2 on neutral courts this year and both teams have 23 wins on the season. Vegas gives Providence +4 points today as they are seeded 11th and North Carolina is 6th. The Friars are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 & should be able to take this game down the stretch and win it outright.
Be on the lookout for some more upsets on Friday but these two games are the hold the best chances for an upset.
