The NASCAR season continues on its torrid pace as Kevin Harvick won last week in Phoenix. This Vegas race has a recent history of the favorites winning, and hasn’t paid out a whole lot. Four of the last five Kobalt 400 winners were listed with either the lowest or second lowest odds. Let’s take a look at three drivers that have a shot in Vegas Sunday.
The first driver worth a look is Joey Logano. He won the pole, and I loved the way he looked last week in Phoenix where he finished fourth. He finished a respectable 12th in this race last season and looks like he’s coming in hot. This just may be the weekend of the 22 as Brad Keselowski won Nationwide with that number. Logano is sitting with 12/1 odds and definitely worth the risk.
Kyle Busch is also definitely worth a look in his hometown. He’s starting 20th on the pole this week, but he looked good in the Nationwide race just coming up short finishing in second place. He finished top 10 last week in Phoenix and I look for him to hang around in the top 5 this race giving himself a chance to win. He’s sitting at 10/1 odds right now and should if nothing else make it exciting.
Keselowski is running hot this season as well, and is coming off a Nationwide win on this track. The odds of winning both races in one weekend aren’t the best, but Keselowski is starting 2nd in the Kobalt 400 and finished third last week in Phoenix. He also finished third in this race last year, so he has proven he can perform well on this track. Keselowski is sitting at 10/1 odds, and he should be around the top of the pack during the race.
