LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – This year’s card brings some interesting matchups to open up the NFL playoffs. Let’s take a look at this weekend’s matchups.

While Kansas City dominated the league for the majority of the season, the Chiefs enter Wild Card weekend as a slight underdog against the Colts. According to oddsmakers, Kansas City is a 2.5-point underdog while the over/under total is currently sitting at 46 points.
In the primetime matchup on Saturday night, the Eagles are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Saints while the over/under total is currently sitting at 53.5 points. On Sunday afternoon, the Bengals are 7-point home favorites over the Chargers while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47 points.
Green Bay appears to be at a defensive disadvantage against the 49ers, but the reality is that the last time Aaron Rogers enter the playoffs off of an injury plagued season the Cheese heads won the Super bowl. So the rule of thumb when reviewing past trends in history the dog plays big in wild card contest. The Packers are currently 2.5-point home underdogs versus the Niners.
With the Saints, Packers, Chiefs and Charges all getting points from the line makers, I would expect the trend to continue this opening playoff weekend.
