156th Belmont Stakes Betting Odds
Seize the Grey will be on the rail in the No. 1 post position at 4/1 odds. Resilience is one of the long shots at 12/1 and will be placed in the No. 2 post. Mystik Dan, who won the Kentucky Derby and finished second in the Preakness Stakes, is in the No. 3 post and is 6/1. The Wine Steward is 15/1 and is in the No. 4 post.
Continuing with the odds, Antiquarian is 10/1 and is in the No. 5 post position. Dornoch is 14/1 and is in the No. 6 post. Protective is another long shot at 17/1 and is in the No. 7 post, while Honor Marie is 12/1 in the No. 8 post.
Finally, Sierra Leone, the 2024 Preakness Stakes winner, is a 2/1 favorite today and is in the No. 9 post position, while Mindframe is 7/1 and will race out of the No. 10 post.
156th Belmont Stakes Prediction
WIN: Mindframe (7/1)
I’m going to take a shot with Mindframe today. He doesn’t have much experience, but he won his Maiden on March 30th and then an allowance on May 4. That’s it. That’s all the experience he has. But he’s fast as sh*t and if the track is fast tonight, he could cruise. He also isn’t worn down like most of the field and his odds indicate that he’ll be in the mix today.
PLACE: Sierra Leone (2/1)
I didn’t want to take the favorite tonight to win, but I do like Sierra Leone a lot tonight at Saratoga. He has yet to finish lower than second in any of his races, which includes finishing as the runner-up in the Kentucky Derby behind Mystik Dan and winning both the 2024 Risen Star and this year’s Blue Grass Stakes. He also didn’t compete in the Preakness, so he’ll be fresh today, unlike Mystik Dan and Preakness winner Seize The Grey.
SHOW: Mystik Dan (6/1)
Based on his recent track record, Mystik Dan will finish in the money today. As previously mentioned, he won this year’s Kentucky Derby and finished second to Seize the Grey in the Preakness Stakes. He also finished third in the Arkansas Derby and won the Southwest Stakes.
Perhaps what is most impressive about Mystik Dan is that he won the Southwest Stakes and finished second in the Preakness on a muddy track. He placed in the Arkansas Derby and won the Kentucky Derby on a fast track. Thus, it doesn’t seem to matter what condition the track is, Mystik Dan is going to compete.
