CFB Week 1 Picks: Ole Miss Rebels vs. Florida State Seminoles 9/5/16

Ole Miss vs. Florida State Pick

Are the Ole Miss Rebels a good underdog bet tonight against Florida State at 8:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seminoles are 6-point favorites tonight at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, while the over/under sits at 59 points. Both the side and total have moved off the original numbers posted by oddsmakers, as FSU has gone from a 6.5-point favorite down to a 6-point fave and the total has gone from 57 up to 59.

Bet Tonight’s Ole Miss vs. Florida State Game

The Rebels were a pretty good play last year for bettors, covering in eight of their 13 line games and winning by an average margin of 18.2 points per contest. As an underdog Ole Miss was 1-0 against the spread and in non-conference games, the Rebels were 4-1 at the betting window, winning by an average margin of 37.8 points per game in those situations.

The Seminoles finished with an identical 8-5 ATS record as the Rebels, winning their games by an average margin of 14.2 points per contest. As a favorite, which is what FSU will be tonight, Jimbo Fisher’s squad was 7-5 at the betting window and in non-conference tilts, the Seminoles were 3-2 against the spread, winning by an average of 22.6 PPG.

OUR PICK: Florida State is led by one of the finest backs in the country in Dalvin Cook, who is a legitimate Heisman candidate if he can stay healthy. The entire offensive line on the two-deep depth chart is backs, so Cook will once again terrorize defenses in 2016. The question for FSU, however, is whether or not Deondre Francois is ready to take over under center. On other side, Ole Miss doesn’t have any questions at quarterback, where Chad Kelly returns after throwing for 4,042 yards and 31 touchdowns to just 13 interceptions a year ago. Take the points and back the Rebels tonight.
