The Bulldogs are now 2-3 on the year after getting crushed 38-14 by Auburn last Saturday. Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald was just 17-of-34 passing for 181 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, while he also added 61 yards on the ground on 17 carries in the loss. Mississippi State has now failed to cover in three of its first five games to start the season.

The Cougars improved to 3-3 with a 31-14 win at Michigan State as a 3.5-point underdog last weekend. Taysom Hill was 18-of-27 passing for 138 yards with one touchdown while Jamaal Williams tore up the Spartan defense for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. BYU has also covered in five of its first six games to start the season.

OUR PICK: The Cougars are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games and are 5-1 ATS in their last six non-conference games. They’ve also covered in five of their last six games overall, are 4-1 against the number in their last five games versus a team with a losing record and are 24-11 at the betting window in their last 35 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. Seven points isn’t too much to lay on BYU, which has consistently covered the spread this season.
