College Football Week 7 Picks: Will Baylor score big to cover vs. Kansas?

Kansas vs. Baylor Pick

Will Baylor rack up enough points to cover as a massive favorite versus Kansas at 3:30PM ET on Saturday?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bears are now 35-point home favorites versus the Jayhawks after opening as a 34-point favorite. As for the total, it currently sits at 67 points after it posted at that same number.

Bet College Football Week 7 Games

Kansas has lost 37 straight road games, with the last win coming against UTEP in September 2009. The Jayhawks’ losing streak is tied for the longest since major classification in 1937 (Wichita State lost 37 straight road games from 1964-71). They’ve also lost 32 straight road games in conference play (last win came in 2008 at Iowa State). After beating Rhode Island 55-6 in Week 1, the Jayhawks have since dropped four straight and are just 2-3 against the spread this season.

Baylor received a scare last week when it had to rally to beat Iowa State 45-42 as a 17-point favorite, but remains undefeated nonetheless. The Bears are 5-0 on the year but have covered the spread just once this season – a 35-24 victory over Oklahoma State as a 7-point favorite two weeks ago. Other than that, the Bears have failed to cover huge spreads all season.

OUR PICK: The Jayhawks have lost 23 straight games against AP-ranked opponents, which is tied for the longest active streak among current Power 5 teams (Colorado). Kansas’ last win over a ranked team came in 2010 against Georgia Tech but it won’t get a victory on Saturday. Baylor quarterback Seth Russell has had a QBR above 70 just once this season (vs. Oklahoma State), but look for the signal-caller to tear up a woeful Kansas defense allowing 33.0 points per game this season (No. 100 in FBS). If you’re going to bet this one, don’t be afraid to lay the number on Baylor.
