Friday NBA Betting: Spurs a bad bet to cover against host Pelicans

Spurs a bad bet to cover vs. Pelicans

NEW ORLEANS, LA (Spread Winners) – The Spurs have been a horrible bet to cover when the play the Pelicans but will that trend continue tonight when these teams meet at 8:00PM ET?

View Today’s NBA Odds

Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Pelicans as 3.5-point home favorites over the Spurs while the over/under total is currently sitting at 201.5 points. While the side for this game hasn’t seen any line movement, the total has gone from 201 up to 201.5 at most sports books.

The Spurs are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven trips to New Orleans, while the home team is 11-4 against the number in the last 15 games between these two teams. San Antonio is also a brutal 3-11 at the betting window in its last 14 games versus Southwest opponents.

The Pelicans are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games following an ATS loss, 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games versus a team with a winning road record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Thus, we like New Orleans to once again cover the number.
