Is the total set too high in Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State in Week 10?

Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State Pick

Is the total set too high in Saturday’s SEC clash between Texas A&M and Mississippi State at 12:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Aggies are 13.5-point road favorites versus the Bulldogs while the over/under currently sits at 61.5 points. Texas A&M opened as a 14-point favorite before the number was bet down, while the total opened at 60.5 before it was bet up.

Bet College Football Week 10 Games

When the playoff rankings were released on Tuesday night, most of the college football world was shocked to see Texas A&M and not Washington ranked among the top four teams. But the Aggies beat UCLA, Arkansas and Tennessee when those opponents were ranked, plus topped a surging Auburn team as well. The problem for A&M is that it’s in the same division as Alabama, so the Aggies would need the Tide to fall twice in order to have a chance to play in the SEC title game. A&M lost at Alabama 33-14 on October 22.

As for Mississippi State, the Bulldogs finally notched their third win of the season but it came against FCS foe Samford and they still surrendered 41 points in the win. Defense has been an issue this season for the Bulldogs, who rank 83rd in the nation while allowing 30.0 points per game. They’re also 105st in the country in passing yards allowed, surrendered 263.9 per game.

OUR PREDICTION: Even though the Bulldogs are handing out points like candy on Halloween, the under is still the play on Saturday. The under is 6-2 in the Bulldogs’ last eight home games and is 35-16-1 in their last 52 conference games. On the other side, the under is 10-2-1 in the Aggies’ last 13 games overall and is a perfect 8-0 in their last eight road games. Mississippi State is going to have a difficult time moving the ball on A&M’s stout defense and while the Aggies will score, the two teams should fall short of cashing the ‘over.’
