MNF Picks: Will Broncos defense shut down Brock Osweiler, Texans? 10/24/16

Texans-Broncos should be Low-Scoring

Will Von Miller and the Broncos shut down Brock Osweiler and the Texans tonight on Monday Night Football, leading to a low-scoring game?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the over/under for tonight’s Monday Night Football tilt is currently sitting at 40.5 after opening at that same number. As for the side, the Broncos opened as a 7.5-point favorite but both public and sharp money has pushed the line up to Denver -8.

Bet Tonight’s Texans vs. Broncos Game

The over is 13-3 in the Texans’ last 16 games played in the month of October but the under has cashed in five of their last six games coming off a win. The under is also 13-3 in their last 16 games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous contest and is 4-1 in their last five games when playing an opponent that owns a winning record.

On the other side, the under is 10-4-1 in Denver’s last 15 home games and is 5-1 in the Broncos’ last six games played in the month of October. The under is also a perfect 5-0 in the Broncos’ last five home games versus a team with a winning record and has also hit in five of their last five games when playing an opponent with a winning record.

OUR PREDICTION: Osweiler has really struggled in this first month and a half with the Texans. He has yet to throw for more than 269 yards in any game and is completing just 59-percent of his passes for 1,402 yards with eight touchdowns and eight picks. He’s holding onto the ball too long, he locks onto receivers and he has displayed little to know feel inside the pocket. He’s also been a turnover machine, which has put Houston’s stout defense in compromising spots. If he plays tonight as he has over his first six games in 2016, then the under should hit as Miller and the Broncos’ defense harass Osweiler all night.
