Can LeBron win another MVP award?
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – LeBron James’ odds to win the MVP this upcoming season are currently set at 7/5. Let’s take a look if that could be a good play for bettors.
LeBron James’ announcement to return to Cleveland has shaken up the NBA championship future odds for the 2014/15 season. The Cavaliers’ NBA championship future odds are now set at 4/1, while the Heat’s has jumped to 50/1.
But as we focus in on LeBron, can he win the MVP now that he’s back in Cleveland?
James will definitely have a stronger supporting cast this time around then in his previous days as a Cavalier. The current projected starting lineup for the Cavaliers in 2014-15 is James, Kyrie Irving, Andrew Wiggins, Tristan Thompson and Anderson Vareao. There are also talks of trade rumors that could potentially send Kevin Love to the Cavs, but nothing has happened yet.
It’s hard not to expect a great season from James this upcoming season. Any team that has LeBron on its roster will carry huge expectations, but this lineup has the potential to live up to the hype.
I like James’ chances of bringing home the MVP trophy, especially if his supporting cast holds up their end. Big numbers are expected from James, who is often taken for granted, so a big measure of his success is the success of his team. Cleveland doesn’t have to necessarily have the best record in the East for James to win MVP, but they will have to be close to it. I wouldn’t unload your bankroll on James to win MVP, but I find it be worth a play.
