ST. LOUIS, MO (The Spread) – Will the Rams win more than 6 games in 2014 after losing quarterback Sam Bradford for the entire season?

The Rams had high expectations this upcoming season with Bradford returning under center but now that the quarterback has been lost for the season, the team’s Super Bowl odds have dropped from 40/1 down to 66/1. Their season win total is also sitting at 6.5 for the 2014 regular season.
I like the Rams to go ‘UNDER’ 6.5 wins this year. Shaun Hill will be the starting quarterback and he has been a backup for his career for a reason. Sure, he might be able to manage a few games, but overall he will be outclassed, especially in the NFC West while having to go toe-to-toe with Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, and Carson Palmer.
The Rams have the third toughest schedule this season, which includes three consecutive road games (at Kansas City, at San Fran, and at Arizona). Then they follow that up with a home game versus the Denver Broncos and this equates to four losses almost guaranteed. They might win one road game this season, possibly at Tampa Bay in Week 2, but don’t count on it. Looking at their home schedule, I see them winning four games at the most and they should finish the season up 5-11.
The Rams are a run-first offense and there are many questions to be answered with their receivers (Kenny Britt, Brian Quick and Tavon Austin). These guys are talented but inconsistent and cannot be trusted when in need of a big play. The defensive ends are the strength of the defense with Robert Quinn and Chris Long, but there are still many uncertainties about the rest of the stop unit.
I see this offense stalling out and only scoring 17-20 points a game. This is too much pressure on the defense and pressure burst pipes. Look for the Rams to finish last in the NFC West in 2014 and to stay ‘UNDER’ 6.5 wins
Play: Saint Louis Rams UNDER 6.5 wins in 2014
