Will the Saints win the NFC South?
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The Saints are currently favored to win the NFC South but are they the best bet in the division?

The Saints were on a mission last season and the ‘Who Dat Nation’ went a perfect 8-0 straight-up at home. They failed to clinch home field advantage in the playoffs though and had to play Seattle where the weather was horrible and took the 23-15 loss, but the game really wasn’t even that close.
This season the Saints are basically sitting at -105 odds to win the NFC South. They will have to fight again with Carolina, an Atlanta team that I expect to be much better, and a Tampa Bay team that will hand out a few scares as well.
Looking at the Saints’ schedule, they do not play a team that went to the Playoffs in 2013 until Week 8. But there are three road games before week 8 (at Atlanta, at Dallas, and at Detroit) and I will call for them to lose two of the three of those contests.
I will also go on record saying the Saints lose in Week 1 to the Falcons. In Week 9, they play at Carolina and this is a Thursday Night game, so they will be on a short week after playing Green Bay that Sunday and I will call for another loss.
Weeks 10-12 the Saints will have three home games and everybody expects them to win all three. After all, the Saints went undefeated at home last year, but only if it was that easy my friends. I will once again say the Saints lose one of these three home games in Weeks 10-12.
With three more road games on tap for the remainder of the season, I will call for the Saints to lose two of those three. They play at Pittsburgh, at Chicago, and close out at Tampa Bay. Their playoff hopes will probably be on the line in this season finale versus the Bucs, and I look for their division rival to play spoiler.
I am seeing New Orleans going 10-6 this season, and there is no value betting them at -105 to win the NFC South. While they could easily go 11-5 or maybe 12-4, it will be hard to duplicate last season’s success. Look for the Bucs to give the Saints a run for their money with new HC Lovie Smith.
When betting the NFC South this season, I really like to take Tampa Bay over 6.5 wins on the season. After analyzing the Bucs’ schedule, I spotted some upsets for them and I will call for Tampa Bay to finish the season 9-7 and to give the Saints a run for the division and to also cash an easy ticket for us.
In closing, let’s pass on who will win the NFC South as it is up for grabs in my opinion. The best play regarding the NFC South is to: Play on Tampa Bay Bucs OVER 6.5 Wins.
