Is a touchdown too much to lay on the Steelers today when they host the Broncos at 4:25PM ET?
Oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag currently list Pittsburgh as a 7-point home favorite over Denver, while the total for today’s game sits at 44.5 points. The Steelers opened as a 5.5-point favorite but the line has been bet up to 7.
This is a lot of points to lay against a team that plays defense as well as Denver does. Granted, the Broncos haven’t scored a touchdown in seven straight quarters but Pittsburgh ranks 31st in the league in pass defense, surrendering 279.0 yards per game through the air. Even though Brock Osweiler has struggled, he should be able to move the ball at times today.
The Broncos have also been great in an underdog role this season, covering all three of their games as a dog by an average margin of 10.7 points. While the Steelers have been excellent at home this season, again, this is a lot of points to lay against Denver’s stout defense.
