Will Cardinals cover spread vs. Hawks?
With the top seed in the NFC playoff race still up for grabs, the Cardinals will look to earn a season sweep versus NFC West rivals the Seahawks at 4:25PM ET today.
Arizona opened as a 3.5-point home favorite for today’s game but according to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Cardinals are now -6.5 to beat the Seahawks. As for the total, the number opened at 47.5 before being bet down to 47.
Free Pick:
The Seahawks’ five-game winning streak both straight up and against the spread came to a screeching halt last Sunday against the Rams, who pulled off an improbable 23-17 upset as an 11.5-point road underdog. In that game, St. Louis harassed quarterback Russell Wilson while shutting down Seattle’s running game.
While the Rams were pulling off the upset, the Cardinals were busy throttling Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in a 38-8 victory. Arizona, which has lacked a dominant pass rush for much of the season, sacked Green Bay’s quarterbacks a total of nine times in the win.
Bruce Arians is not going to rest his starters with a bye week coming up before the playoffs. Thus, if the Cardinals can stop the run and bring the same heat this week as they did against the Packers, then perhaps Pete Carroll will be the one to pull starters in the second half. (No need to subject Wilson to injury with the Seahawks having to play wild card weekend.)
Arians isn’t going to let his foot off the gas, especially against Carroll and the Seahawks. Don’t be afraid to lay the points despite this being a rivalry game.
