NFL Week 7 Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers Predictions 10/20/16

Bears vs. Packers Prediction

Will the Bears cover as a sizable road underdog tonight when they visit the Packers on Thursday Night Football at 8:25PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Packers are now 7.5-point home favorites versus the Bears after they opened as a 9-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number opened at 47 but has dropped a full point down to 46.

The Bears have failed to cover in four of their last five games and are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five Thursday games as well. They’re also 1-6 at the betting window in their last seven games overall, are 2-6 against the number in their last eight games versus NFC opponents and have failed to cash in seven of their last 22 games when playing in the division.

The Packers have covered in seven of their last eight games in Week 7, are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games coming off a loss, and are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games in October. That said, they’re just 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight home games and just 2-7 against the number in their last nine home games versus a team with a losing road record.

OUR PREDICTION: The Bears aren’t a very talented team but they’ve been competitive with Brian Hoyer under center. The Packers, meanwhile, continue to struggle offensively and will be without running backs Eddie Lacy and James Starks for tonight’s game. That means Ty Montgomery, a receiver, could see snaps at running back. (Green Bay did trade for Knile Davis but it remains to be seen how much he’ll play.) The road team has covered in six of the last seven meetings between these two teams and while Green Bay might win, Chicago should cover.

NFL WEEK 7 PREDICTION: CHICAGO BEARS +7.5
