The defending Super Bowl champions remain the team to beat in the NFL and will certainly return to the playoffs in 2014. However, they will not enter as the number one seed with a sparkling 13-3 record. This can be largely attributed to the Seahawks playing in the best division in football: The NFC West.
There may be a changing of the guard in the NFC West on the horizon in 2014. The Arizona Cardinals already sported a top five defense that has only gotten better. Taking into account free agency and the draft, it is likely that the Cardinals have surpassed both the 49ers and Seahawks. On paper Arizona undoubtedly has a superior front seven to Seattle. The Seahawks will split with both the Cards and the 49ers.
The wildcard in the mix is St. Louis. The Rams have built up a respectable roster and their starting quarterback, Sam Bradford, returns after being out with an injury for most of 2013. Within their division Seattle will finish 3-3. The Hawks will have the challenge of facing an arduous schedule. Carolina, Kansas City, Denver, Green Bay, Philadelphia and the Giants can give this team headaches. Look for the Hawks to drop two of these games. Most likely the trips to Kansas City and Carolina will present the greatest difficulty for the Hawks as they are a lock to win home games with the 12th man at their back.
Prediction: Seattle 11-5 (Possibly 10-6)
Free NFL Picks – I would steer away from this one BUT I do lean that the Seahawks finish at the 10-6 mark.
