Which teams are being overlooked?
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Which team or teams might be most overlooked as we draw closer to the NCAA tournament? Let’s take a look.
At 18/1 odds to win 2014 Final 4, one would think Virginia looks to be receiving some respect from the bookmakers for a shot at the NCAA title. When we look at the teams favored ahead of Virginia, I would argue that Virginia is NOT receiving enough respect. 18/1 odds could be a gift, especially if they take the ACC Tourney crown this weekend.
Odds To Win 2014 Final 4:
Florida +475
Kansas +600
Arizona +700
Michigan State +800
Wichita State +800
Duke +1000
Louisville +1000
Michigan +1500
Wisconsin +1500
Syracuse +1600
Villanova +1800
Virginia +1800
Creighton +2800
Down the stretch, Virginia has proven to be battle tested winning matchups on the road against Clemson, Notre Dame, Pitt, NC State, GA Tech and VA Tech. Wins at home versus UNC and Syracuse only prove that this team is ready to step up and make a deep run in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
Virginia has already been kind to their backers this season posting a 17-10 ATS record, along with a 12-14 O/U mark that points to a solid defense. With 4 of their 5 starters averaging 8+ points per game, any player can take this offense where it needs go. Solid depth is a key if you want to make a run in the tourney and Virginia should be able to do just that.
