Will the Patriots cover the spread vs. the Chiefs on Monday Night Football?

Should bettors lean Patriots tonight?

KANSAS CITY, MO (The Spread) – The Kansas City Chiefs host the New England Patriots on ESPN at 8:30PM ET tonight.  Will the Patriots cover as road favorites?

The Patriots now sit at 2-1 on the season as they head to Kansas City where the Chiefs sit at 1-2.  The Patriots are coming off a straight up win over the Raiders where they failed to cover the 14.5-point spread, while the Chiefs blew out Miami as 5.5-point underdog.

Monday Night football is always a tough spot for bettors.  There’s the temptation to either chase your losses or give your money back depending on how your weekend turned out.  With that said, I anticipate the Patriots coming away with a win and cover tonight.  The Patriots are on a 2-6 ATS slide when listed as road favorites, but the Pats just seem to have the Kansas City’s number as they are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 versus the Chiefs.

I look for the Patriots to shine in the spotlight behind quarterback Tom Brady.  Kansas City hasn’t been dependable covering the number on their home field as they are 0-5 ATS in their last five home games.  The Chiefs have also struggled versus the AFC North as they are 0-6 ATS in their last six versus that division.  There’s no better time for the Patriots to bring their “A” game then on the big stage of Monday Night Football.

The public money is pretty much split down the middle on this game, but I see the Patriots taking this one by a touchdown. Take the Patriots Monday night.
