The short answer to that question is, “hell no you shouldn’t bet against the Canadians simply because their star goalie is hurt.” A lot of times teams step up after an injury and the line for Game 3 is +158 for Montreal money.
Looking at public action, we are actually seeing more public money on Montreal. In Game 2 we were lucky to get the Rangers at basically plus money early. Then later, when Price’s injury was revealed, the line went from -130 Montreal to even money.
We capitalized on New York and that is the key to betting: Knowing value in a line. Dustin Tokarski is no slouch in goal I expect Montreal to really step up in Game 3, which would allow bettors to capitalize on plus money. Then from there, I would strongly consider a big play on the Rangers in Game 4.
