Thursday’s MLB Odds
(TheSpread) – Major League Baseball finally gets into full swing on Thursday, with seven games taking place. Here is a look at the odds for each game on the schedule.
The featured game of Thursday has the Detroit Tigers hosting the Boston Red Sox at 1:05PM ET (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers, the Tigers are the favorite in this game with a money line of -139 while the Red Sox have odds of +131 to win. The over/under total for runs scored has been set at 7. The Tigers will be sending defending AL Cy Young winner, Justin Verlander to the mound, while the Red Sox will counter with Jon Lester. Boston has won 8 of its last 11 in Detroit but Verlander has went at least 7.2 innings in each of his last two outings against the Sox.
Another interesting game on Thursday has the Chicago Cubs hosting the Washington Nationals at 2:20PM ET (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers, the road Nationals are the favorite with a money line of -153, while the Cubs have odds of +144 to win. There has not been an over/under total ser for this game. Stephen Strasburg takes the mound for Washington following Tommy John Surgery last season and Ryan Dempster will have the ball for the Cubs. Chicago has won three of its last four against the Nationals, including an outing last August with Dempster pitching seven strong innings.
