MLB Wild Card Game Odds
(TheSpread) – Major League Baseball has its two Wild Card Playoff games set for Friday. Here is a look at the odds for both of those contests.
Both the American League and National League have 1 game featuring the two Wild Card teams. The winners of each game will go on to face the top seed in their respective leagues in a best-of-5 divisional playoff series.
In the American League, the Wild Card game has the Texas Rangers hosting the Baltimore Orioles at 8:37PM ET (View Matchup). The Rangers will send Yu Darvish to the mound to face Joe Saunders of the Orioles. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, The Rangers are the clear favorite to win this game, as they have been given odds of -190, while the Orioles have a money line of +180. The over/under total for the game has been set at 9 runs. Both teams were 93-69 in the regular season. The Rangers were 50-31 at home while the Orioles were 46-35 on the road. These two teams met seven times during the season and Texas won five of the seven games.
The Wild Card game in the National League has the Atlanta Braves hosting the St. Louis Cardinals hosting at 5:07PM ET (View Matchup). The Braves will send Kris Medlen to the mound to face Kyle Lohse of the Cardinals. According to oddsmakers, the Braves are favored to win this game, as they have odds of -165, while the Cardinals have a money line of +155. The over/under total for the game has been set at 6.5 runs. Atlanta was 94-68 this season and 48-33 at home while the Cardinals were 88-74 overall and 38-43 on the road. These two teams met six times during the season and Atlanta won five of this six meetings.
