Updated ALCS Odds To Win
(TheSpread) – The MLB Playoffs have the field set. Here is an updated look at the odds to win the American League Championship Series.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Boston Red Sox are favored to win the ALCS, as they have odds of 9/5 to win. The other odds to win are the Detroit Tigers (9/4), the Oakland Athletics (3/1), the Cleveland Indians (7/1) and the Tampa Bay Rays (7/1).
The Red Sox have the top record in the AL and will have the home-field edge throughout the playoffs. Boston won the AL East by picking up a 97-65 record. Boston has won the AL Pennant 12 times, with the last coming in 2007.
Detroit is the No. 3 seed in the AL thanks to winning its third-straight AL Central title. The Tigers went 93-69 during the season. Detroit has won the AL title 11 times and is the defending AL champion.
Oakland is the No. 2 seed in the AL. The Athletics won the AL West with a 96-66 record. Oakland has won the ALCS 15 times in franchise history, but the last title came back in 1990.
Cleveland and Tampa Bay are the Wild Card teams and will meet in the Wild Card game on Wednesday. Cleveland went 92-70 in the season while Tampa Bay went 91-71. Cleveland will host the Rays in the 1-game playoff, with the winner beginning a series with Boston this weekend.
