(TheSpread) – With the baseball season at its midway break, it’s time to look at who is now favored to win the American League Championship Series.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Detroit Tigers are the favorite to win the ALCS this season, as the Tigers have 3/1 odds. The other short odds to win are the Boston Red Sox (17/4) and the Oakland Athletics (9/2).
The Tigers are the current leaders in the AL Central with a 52-42 record, but Detroit has the worst record of any AL division leader. The Tigers are just 23-23 on the road, but have scored 477 runs, second most in the majors.
Boston is the leader in the stacked AL East. The Red Sox have a 58-39 record right now, which is tops for any team in the American League. The Red Sox also have scored the most runs of any team in the league this season, racking up 498 runs. Boston has a 31-16 record at home.
Oakland enters the break as the leader in the AL West at 56-39. The Athletics have a two-game lead on the Rangers in the division. Oakland has allowed the fewest runs in the AL, giving up just 367 runs this season.
