AL Cy Young Award Updated Odds
(The Spread) – Max Scherzer of the Tigers has the most wins in the American League and he’s also currently favored to win the 2013 AL Cy Young award.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Scherzer is currently 7/4 to win the 2013 American League Cy Young award. The pitchers with the next best odds are Boston’s Clay Buchholz and Texas’ Yu Darvish, who are both 4/1, respectively. Cleveland’s Justin Masterson, meanwhile, is 10/1 to win this year’s Cy Young.
Continuing with the current odds, both Seattle’s Felix Hernandez and Oakland’s Bartolo Colon are 12/1, respectively. Anibal Sanchez of Detroit and Hiwashi Iwakuma of Seattle are 14/1, respectively, while Detroit’s Justin Verlander is 15/1.
Matt Moore (Rays), C.C. Sabathia (Yankees), Chris Sale (White Sox), Joe Nathan (Rangers), Alex Cobb (Rays) and Mariano Rivera (Yankees) are all 25/1, respectively, while R.A. Dickey of the Blue Jays have the worst odds at 100/1.
As previously mentioned, Scherzer has a perfect 12-0 record with a 3.10 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP, while Colon is 11-2 with a 2.79 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. Moore also has 11 wins, while Masterson is 10-6 with a 3.48 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. While he’s only 5-7, Sale has the best WAR among American League pitchers at 4.3, while Buchholz has the next-best WAR at 4.0.
