Monday’s MLB Tiebreaker Odds
(TheSpread) – The MLB Postseason gets started on Monday night with a 1-game tiebreaker. Here is a look at the odds for the lone contest.
The one-game playoff is to determine the second AL wild card team and it features the Texas Rangers hosting the Tampa Bay Rays at 8PM ET. The Rays have David Price on the mound to face Martin Perez of the Rangers. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Rays are favored on the road, as they have odds of -129 to prevail, while the Rangers have been given a money line of +119 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 7.5 runs.
Both teams finished the regular season with a 91-71 overall record. Tampa Bay went 40-41 on the road while Texas was 46-35 at home. These two teams met seven times during the regular season. Texas won four of the seven meetings and the home team also won four of the seven meetings. They also hit the over three times, the under twice and pushed on two occasions. Surprisingly, neither Price nor Perez has started in any of the seven meetings.
