Updated World Series Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2013 MLB Season has concluded and the postseason begins tonight. Here is a look at the odds to win this year’s World Series.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Boston Red Sox are favored to win the World Series, as they have 15/4 odds. Other short odds to win are the Los Angeles Dodgers (17/4), the Detroit Tigers (5/1) and the St. Louis Cardinals (6/1).
The Red Sox come into the postseason with the top record in the AL and tied for the best record in baseball. Boston won the AL East with a 97-65 overall record, going 53-28 at home and 44-37 on the road. Boston scored 57 more runs than any other team in baseball this year.
The Dodgers are the No. 3 seed in the National League but finished the season on a very strong run. Los Angeles won the NL West with a 92-70 record and went 47-34 at home and 45-36 on the road. The 45 road wins tie for most of any team.
The Tigers are the third seed in the American League after winning the AL Central with a 93-69 record. Detroit went 51-30 at home and 42-39 on the road. The Tigers posted the second-most runs in baseball this season.
The Cardinals are the top seed in the National League and they finished the season with a 97-65 record, tying Boston for the best record in baseball. St. Louis won the NL Central thanks to a 54-27 home record and 43-38 road record. The 54 home wins were the second-most for any team.
