Updated World Series Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2013 MLB Season is at its All-Star Break. Here is an updated look at the odds to win the World Series this season.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Detroit Tigers are the favorite to win it all, as the Tigers have 13/2 odds. Other short odds to win at the St. Louis Cardinals (7/1), the Atlanta Braves (8/1), the Boston Red Sox (9/1) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (9/1).
The Tigers are the current leaders in the AL Central with a 52-42 record, but Detroit has the worst record of AL division leader. Detroit is packed with power at the plate and solid pitching, but the Tigers have been inconsistent all season.
St. Louis is the leader in the NL Central at 57-36, and the Cardinals have the top record of any MLB team entering the break. St. Louis has an impressive 30-20 record on the road, which has helped it get out to a great start this season.
The Braves are the leaders in the NL East at 54-41. Their six-game lead in the division is the largest lead for any team entering the break. Atlanta has been very solid at home, going 31-15.
Boston is the leader in the stacked AL East. The Red Sox have a 58-39 record right now, which is tops for any team in the American League. The Red Sox also have scored the most runs of any team in the league this season, racking up 498.
The Dodgers are actually in second in the NL West and just 47-47 on the season, but they have rallied from a really poor start and feature one of the top rookies in the league in Yasiel Puig.
