World Series MVP Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The 2014 World Series has plenty of potential MVP candidates for the series. Here is a look at the odds to take home this honor when the series concludes.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, San Francisco’s Buster Posey is the favorite to win the honor, as he has 17/2 odds. Lorenzo Cain of the Royals has 9/1 odds while four others have 10/1 odds.
Posey is San Francisco’s stud catcher. He has played in all 10 games in the postseason for the Giants and is batting .302 with five runs driven in and 13 total hits. He has yet to hit a home run, but is a strong defensive catcher that could make a difference with his defense.
Cain won the ALCS MVP award for his play in the sweep of the Orioles. Cain has appeared in all eight playoff games for the Royals had is batting .353 with four RBI and 12 hits, including three doubles. He has scored a team-high nine runs.
One Giant with 10/1 odds is ace pitcher Madison Bumgarner, who has been lights out in the playoffs. He has started four games this postseason and has a 2-1 record with 31.2 innings pitched. His ERA in the four games is just 1.42 while his WHIP is 0.76. He was named the NLCS MVP.
Another Royal with 10/1 odds is Eric Hosmer, who is leading the team in most hitting categories this postseason. He is batting .448 with two home runs and eight RBI. He has 22 total bases and has a OBP of .556.
