2015 American League Pennant Odds
The 2015 MLB Postseason starts on Tuesday night and at the start of the playoffs, the Toronto Blue Jays are favored to represent the American League in this year’s World Series.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Blue Jays are 8/5 favorites to win the American League pennant this year. The Royals, meanwhile, have the next best odds at 9/5 while the Rangers are 7/2 and the Astros are 6/1. The Yankees, who will host Houston on Tuesday night, have the longest odds at 8/1.
Ned Yost and the Royals came into last weekend’s series against the Twins with plenty to play for and after sweeping Minnesota at Target Field, Kansas City earned home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Nevertheless, thanks to their incredible run differential of +221, the Blue Jays are favored to win the pennant this year. They’re certainly stacked, from outstanding offense to an ace in David Price who has pitched in big games in previous postseasons.
Assuming they win on Tuesday, the Astros could make a surprise run thanks to ace Dallas Keuchel, although he hasn’t been as dominant on the road as he has at home. Houston will play in the Bronx tonight and face Masahiro Tanaka for the right to advance to the ALCS to play the aforementioned Royals.
