The Mets are the NL East champs and they beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games to advances to this series. The Cubs were the Wild Card winner and coming off a 3-1 series win over the top-seeded St. Louis Cardinals. Today, the Mets send Matt Harvey (1-0, 3.60 ERA) to the mound to face Jon Lester (0-1, 3.68 ERA) of the Cubs. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Mets are favored at home in Game 1, as they are getting odds of -115 to win, while the Cubs are getting a money line of +105 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 6.5 runs.

These two teams met seven times during the regular season and the Cubs won all seven meetings, including three wins in New York. The Cubs were dominant in the series, scoring a total of 27 runs while the Mets had just 11 runs in the seven games. The Cubs have actually won nine straight over the Mets, dating back to last season. Harvey got the start in one of the loses to the Cubs this year while Lester started in two wins over the Mets this year.
