The Cardinals (100-62) have Jaime Garcia (10-6, 2.43 ERA) taking the mound today to face Kyle Hendricks (8-7, 3.95 ERA) of the Cubs (97-65). According to oddsmakers at GTBets, the Cardinals are the favorite in Game 2, as St. Louis is getting odds of -130 to win, while the Cubs are getting a money line of +120 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 6.5 runs.

The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead on Friday with a 4-0 victory in Game 1. John Lackey came up strong on the mound as he pitched 7.1 innings, allowing just two hits with one walk and five strikeouts. His effort overshadowed Jon Lester, who allowed five hits and three runs over 7.1 for the Cubs, but also had nine strikeouts. Matt Holliday got the scoring started right away for St. Louis on a RBI single in the first and then Thomas Pham and Stephen Piscotty each had a home run in the eighth.
