2016 MLB Win Totals
Even though the Cubs have the best odds to win the World Series, they’re not the team with the highest win total in 2016.

Sports Insights.com released win totals for all 30 Major League Baseball teams for 2016 and the team at the top was the Giants, who have an over/under of 90 for number of wins this upcoming season. It’s interesting that San Francisco, and not Chicago is the team with the highest win total. According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Cubs are 9/2 favorites to win the World Series while the Giants are 9/1.
That said, it’s not as if the Cubs and Giants have dramatically different win totals for 2016. While San Francisco has an over/under of 90 wins, Chicago has the next-highest win total at 89. The Mets, who won the NL Pennant last season, has an over/under of 88 wins, while the Cardinals have an over/under of 87.5.
The reason oddsmakers have the Giants listed with 90 wins and the Cubs 89 might be because Chicago plays in an ultra-competitive division that also features St. Louis (100 wins last season) and Pittsburgh (97 wins in 2015). Then again, it’s not like the Dodgers or Diamondbacks are going to allow the Giants to sleepwalk to a NL West crown this season.
