Opening 2018 World Series Odds
The 2018 World Series opening odds have been released. Who is favored, who is the biggest challenger, and who is also in the mix?
The Favorite: Los Angeles Dodgers
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Dodgers are 5/1 favorites to win the 2018 World Series after coming one game shy of winning it all in 2017. Yu Darvish, Andre Ethier and Curtis Granderson are just some of their free agents this winter. Clayton Kershaw, Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager, Justin Turner and Kenley Jansen will all return, forming one of the most-talented rosters in baseball.
The Challenger(s): Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros
The Indians and Astros both have 6/1 odds, respectively, to win the 2018 World Series. Outside of the Dodgers, those are the most favorable odds of any teams in baseball. Cleveland has decisions to make about Jay Bruce, Bryan Shaw, Carlos Santana and others, while Houston only has a few free agents, including Carlos Beltran, Luke Gregerson, Francisco Liriano and Cameron Maybin.
The Next Best: Nationals, Yankees, Red Sox and Cubs
Washington has 7/1 odds to win the 2018 World Series while the Yankees are 8/1 and the Red Sox and Cubs are both 10/1, respectively.
