Tigers 2020 Win Total Prediction
After winning just 47 games a year ago, will the Tigers show any improvement in 2020? And even if they do, will they win 10 more games this season than they did a year ago in order to cash the over on their win total?
Tigers Win Total Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com, the Tigers’ win total is sitting at 56, with the over carrying 4/5 juice and the odds on the under listed at 20/21.
Tigers Offseason Moves
The only significant moves that the Tigers made this winter was the additions of catcher Austin Romine and starter Ivan Nova. Romine is reportedly good in the clubhouse and Nova is fine when healthy, but neither will help boost a club that lacks talent from top to bottom.
Tigers Win Total Prediction
PECOTA projects the Tigers to win 69.2 games this season, making the over a huge value play for bettors. But I just can’t see it. Miguel Cabrera is a shell of his former self and Jeimer Candelario continues to regress as well. Victor Reyes is an interesting player and Niko Goodrum offers value as a versatile piece, but this lineup is rough.
On the mound, it’ll be interesting to see if Matthew Boyd pitches well enough in the first half for the team to deal him at the deadline. If they do, a Nova-Jordan Zimmermann-Spencer Turnbull-Daniel Norris combination is going to lose a lot of games. And if they don’t rack up losses, the no-name bullpen certainly will. It’s going to be another disastrous season in Detroit.
