The history has been with the American League for the last four years. They have won four straight, all by multiple runs. The AL has won 11 of the last 14 All-Star Games. Despite that, the NL actually has a 43-42-1 record all-time.
The National League will hand the ball over to Max Scherzer to start tonight’s contest. He is part of an impressive pitching rotation that features Zack Greinke and Stephen Strasburg, amongst others. The team won’t have Clayton Kershaw, as he pitched on Sunday. When it comes to the batting order, the NL will be led by Bryce Harper, Buster Posey and hometown hero Giancarlo Stanton.
The American League will give the ball to Boston’s Chris Sale, who has 178 strikeouts this season. The AL will be without some key pitchers due to injuries/Sunday pitching. Corey Kluber and Dallas Keuchel are among the players not available. Still, the group has some great relievers, led by Andrew Miller. When it comes to the batting order, the AL is without Mike Trout, who suffered an injury over a month ago. The team will still have the likes of Jose Altuve and newcomer Aaron Judge.
