Los Angeles Angels DFS SPIN
Tom Verducci of Sports Illustrated reports the Angels are taking Shohei Ohtani off the trade market. Wow. Verducci adds that the Angels will hold onto Ohtani in an attempt to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2014 instead of selling at next week’s trade deadline. Los Angeles enters Thursday’s doubleheader against the Tigers just four games out of a wild-card playoff spot. It sounds like the Angels are going to roll the dice that the 29-year-old two-way superstar will carry them to the postseason rather than embark on a rebuild.
Detroit Tigers DFS SPIN
Spencer Torkelson went 1-for-5 with two RBI in an extra-inning loss to the Angels. Torkelson and the Tigers were gifted a blunder in the outfield during the ninth inning, allowing the Tigers to complete a wild four-run comeback to knot the game up at six runs apiece. The 23-year-old is hitting .232/.308/.414 across 426 plate appearances.

Angels vs. Tigers MLB BETTING PREDICTION
At -150, this isn’t a bad moneyline price for the Angels considering we get Ohtani on the bump. I don’t know what sort of mood he’ll be in today after the news broke last night that club won’t deal him by Tuesday’s trade deadline, but we’re not here to handicap players’ psyches anyway. All I know is that Ohtani is 8-5 on the year with a 3.71 ERA and despite his 1-2 record and 7.71 ERA over three starts this month, he’s still Shohei Ohtani. I’m taking advantage of the price break and taking the Halos in Game 1 today.
