Ty Blach (8-9, 4.59 ERA) draws the start for the Giants, while the Diamondbacks go with Zack Greinke (14-6, 3.16). Blach has had back-to-back bad starts, giving up 12 earned runs over his last 11 1/3 innings. He only has 67 strikeouts in 139 1/3 innings and his WHIP stands at 1.34. Blach has a 5.50 road ERA in 54 innings. Greinke has a 1.08 WHIP and the D-backs have won 17 of his 25 starts. He has lost two of his last three times out, including the last start as he allowed five runs (four earned) over four innings in a 5-0 loss at Minnesota.
San Francisco comes in with a 52-77 record and is 21-42 on the road, while Arizona is 70-58 and 39-23 at home. The two teams are 5-5 in their last 10 meetings and the total has gone over in six of those games.
The Giants are coming off a 4-2 home win over the Brewers Wednesday as they won two of three in the series. Jarrett Parker had a key two-run double, while Gorkys Hernandez had two hits and scored twice. Brandon Crawford had two hits and scored a run, while Kelby Tomlinson also had two hits. Hunter Strickland picked up the win in relief and Sam Dyson earned his 12th save. Arizona won three of four at the Mets including Thursday’s 3-2 win. Robbie Ray returned from being out four weeks after getting hit in the head by a line drive. He was effective, giving up one run and striking out nine in five innings to get the victory. Fernando Rodney earned his 30th save. Reymond Fuentes paced the offense with two hits and a run. Ketel Marte was 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI, while Gregor Blanco and Brandon Drury both had an RBI single

Greinke pitches well at home and he is going against an offense without much pop outside of Buster Posey. While Blach has been dreadful his last two starts, he often does a good job keeping hitters off balance. Arizona returns home after a road trip and might go through the motions with their ace on the mound. Go with the under as Arizona would have to score a lot if Greinke gets into his usual rhythm.
