Stripling pitched 7 1/3 innings of no-hit ball before being removed by manager Dave Roberts from his start last Friday against the Giants. Stripling, who spent in 2015 making his way back from Tommy John surgery, was lifted after 100 pitches and then had to watch has Chris Hatcher allowed a two-run home run to Trevor Brown. The dinger tied the game at 2-2 and San Francisco went on to win the game with a Brandon Crawford walk-off home run in extra innings.

Robbie Ray, meanwhile, will start for the Diamondbacks. He allowed two runs and four hits in six innings versus the Cubs last Friday. He walked four and also hit a batter, but Chicago didn’t take full advantage of its opportunities.
OUR PICK: The Diamondbacks received a lot of praise in spring training but they’ve struggled to start the season. They’re 1-5 in Ray’s last six road starts and 2-5 in their last seven games overall. As for Yasiel Puig and the Dodgers, they’re 5-1 in their last six games versus a left-handed starter and 12-5 in their last 17 home games versus a lefty.
