According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Keuchel is a 1/1 favorite to win the AL Cy Young award this season while Sonny Gray of the A’s has the next best odds at 3/2. David Price (Blue Jays) and Felix Hernandez (Mariners) are both 7/1, respectively, while Chris Archer of the Rays is 15/1 and Chris Sale of the White Sox has the longest odds at 25/1.

Keuchel currently has a 13-5 record with a 2.35 ERA and a 2.67 FIP. His strikeout rate (8.03) is the highest of his career while his 2.12 walk rate is the lowest he’s posted in three years. He’s been a huge part of Houston’s surprise success this season.

On the other end of the spectrum, the A’s are in last place in the AL East but Gray has been outstanding. He’s 11-4 with a 2.12 ERA and a 2.88 FIP while his strikeout rate is 7.72 and his walk rate is 2.36. Oakland’s struggles this season don’t reflect how dominant Gray has been.
